Register for the Surrey International Writer`s Conference
The Surrey International Writers’ Conference, held every October in British Columbia, is the most comprehensive conference of its kind in Canada. SiWC offers writers in all genres — from beginners to experts — the opportunity both to hone their craft and to expose their work to the international literary marketplace. This year the registration for SiWC opens at midnight, JUNE 1, 2010 .
Why should you register early? Here are just a couple of reasons:
• First choice of appointments. Everyone who registers can choose a Blue Pencil Café appointment and an editor/agent appointment at the time of registration. Some of our agents’ appointments fill up FAST, so the sooner you register, the better chance you have of getting a spot with your dream agent.
• Early bird prices. Our pricing for 2010 will be up shortly, in ample time for you to get ready for registration. We’re expecting them to be the same or very very close to last year’s, and, as always, we offer you a reduced rate for early registration.
Why should you register at all? Well, that list is a long one that includes over 70 workshops and panels covering all aspects of writing craft and business; amazing presenters; terrific banquets, keynote speakers, master classes, night owl events, book fair, silent auction, trade show, and of course the silly writing contest; and my personal favourite, the magic of SiWC. There’s something wonderfully special about spending the weekend in the friendly atmosphere of SiWC, surrounded by people who share your goals and struggles and who don’t look at you strangely when you talk about the voices in your head.
